Explained: How to apply for a golden visa in the UAE?

The 10-year residency permits are for investors and people with exceptional skills

In honor of their unique status, tens of thousands of people in the UAE have been granted a golden visas.

People who have made a significant contribution to the country, have highly valued abilities, or operate in essential areas that are critical to economic growth are granted 10-year resident permits.

Hundreds of high school students who received golden visas for themselves, their parents, and siblings were among the recipients.

Golden visas were approved for the first time in late 2020. In the first year, Dubai alone issued 44,000 visas.

The UAE Cabinet, led by Vice President and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, approved the ‘executive regulations’ of the Federal Decree-Law on Foreigner Entry and Residence in April of this year.

These prompted the introduction of new visa kinds and the legal approval of ones that had already been implemented, such as the Golden Visa residency program.

What are golden visas?

Golden visas became available in 2020. They are intended to allow foreigners to live, work, and study in the UAE without the need for a national sponsor and to allow them to own 100% of their firm on the UAE’s mainland.

These visas are valid for ten years, and if the recipient continues to follow the terms of the visa, it can be renewed for another ten years when it expires.

Every two to three years, normal expatriate workers must renew their visas.

Emirati citizenship, on the other hand, can only be awarded to those nominated by government or royal court authorities.

Investors, entrepreneurs, people with specialized talents, researchers in many sectors of science and knowledge, and bright students with promising scientific abilities may be awarded golden visas.
